New S-Class confirmed for 2020
Now it’s Mercedes’ turn: After several leaks on Instagram, Daimler shows the front of the new S-Class without camouflage for the first time. Official info!
Mercedes is catching up: The new S-Class (model code W 223) has already made a spectacular early start with several Instagram leaks. First scrap yard pictures revealed the complete exterior and interior of the upcoming Mercedes flagship, then there were premature detail shots of the interior and photos of the new infotainment system. Now Mercedes shows the first official picture of the new S-class front!
After the leaks, however, the Daimler image offers hardly any surprises. The newly shaped radiator grille and the narrower headlights are striking. In addition, the teaser image reveals the new multi-spoke rim design and the (standing) Mercedes star mounted on the bonnet. We know that the new S-Class retains its stately proportions even without further comparison possibilities due to the leaks.
Mercedes promises new KI level
Mercedes promises that the new S-generation will set new standards in terms of comfort and noise insulation and will surpass the current model once again. In addition, the flagship is to reach a new level in terms of artificial intelligence and “needs-based electrification”. It remains to be seen what is actually behind this. What is really decisive, however, is probably the official information that the world premiere of the new S-Class is to take place in the second half of 2020. Auto Motor Magazine does not expect the market launch before the turn of the year. Together with the EQS, which will be available from 2021, the W 223 will be built in a newly built factory (Factory 56) in Sindelfingen, Germany.
